Your Story Can Help Others

We collect stories by Russian speakers for peace and democracy. Your experience and perspective will help people worldwide understand the current situation in Russia, and the needs of those who chose or were forced to escape. We want stories both from people currently living in Russia and those abroad.

Your story will help the international society to understand the needs of the people like you. We cooperate with NGOs and officials trying to make the process of getting the visas for Russian citizens easier, for instance.

You Don't Need to Be a Writer to Be Our Storyteller

The story form will help to tell your story, even if you are not a writer. Each of its 14 sections has questions for inspiration. You fill in the ones that you see relevant for you story.

You don't have to answer every question - focus on the questions that are relevant to your story. A sentence or two in most of the sections are enough to compile your story.

Before publishing, our experienced editors will compile your story into a continual text and correct any mistakes. If we think that your safety might be compromised, we will suggest possible changes to increase your anonymity.

Publishing Your Story

We will publish your story at our website and our Instagram channel.

Our volunteers will translate your story into English, Czech, and other languages (as capacities allow) to promote a multinational dialog.

If you leave us your e-mail, we will send you the story for review and approval before publishing.

We Care About Your Privacy and Safety

Be brave but be safe. We are well aware of the constant increase of repressive measures against Russians who do not support the official position. We'll do our best to protect your identity and privacy, but please understand that you are ultimately sharing your story at your own risk.

If you wish to be entirely anonymous, we can publish your story with a changed name, an AI generated photo and omitting any details that could lead to your identification. Our readers understand this.

The degree to which you wish to be identifiable is entirely up to you. Some people speak out publicly and accept the possible consequences to themselves, their families and friends, others don’t. We respect your choices and ensure that your story is authentic regardless of how much personal data is revealed.

Our stand on the Russian invasion to Ukraine

Russia started the war against Ukraine. This war is happening from 2014. It has only intensified on February 24th 2022. Milions of Ukrainians are suffering. The perpetrators of this must be brought to justice for their crimes.

Russian regime tries to silence its liberal voices. Russian people against the war exist - and the Russian regime tries its best to silence them. We want to prevent that and make their voices heard.

Connection is crucial. The Russian liberal initiatives are hard to read for European public at times. The legal, social and historical context of Russia is not always clear. We want to share information, build bridges and connect the liberal Russia with The West.

We believe in dialogue, not isolation. The oppositional powers in Russia will not be able to change anything without the support of the democratic world. We also believe that the dialogue should go both ways.

The choice is yours. We understand the anger for the Russian crimes. It is up to you whether you want to listen to the Russian people standing against this.
